DETAILS of LONDONSCAPE – PAINTING IN OILS – August 15th to 18th, 2016

An artistic escape into London, using a local park, and the trees therein, and the varied and surprising cityscape immediately around the venue as starting points.

Frank Auerbach’s Londonscapes will be in our minds: ‘I never visualise a picture before I start. I have an impulse and I try to find a form for that impulse. The great benefit of manuring the thing with reality is that reality continually belies one’s expectations.’

Let’s use this four-day course in the King’s Road to experience the surroundings in oil paint!

This course takes place in a well-appointed upstairs room with chairs, projector, tables and all the materials and paint you need, and will be intense and encouraging, founded in research yet subject to gesture and emotion.

We’ll meet at 10.30 am every day and work through til 4.30 pm with a break for lunch (available from the pub downstairs if you like)

All necessary teas, coffees, biscuits are provided every day in the studio, where there is room for a dining table as well as plenty of comfy sofas for the slideshows …

The course costs £400* for 4 days and you can make sure of your place by paying a (non-refundable unless the course is cancelled) deposit of £100 here:
