19 February 2013: dear London, on working in the studio … day 34

Tuesday, back in the studio, working from Keith Vaughan and Matisse figure studies, well at least essential versions of their palettes. Once more the details look (much) better, I think. I painted the Vaughan palette pieces from yesterday’s model on cardboard and Matisse in monoprint mode on glossy HP photo paper.

Palette notes for Vaughan life

Over ochre/cardboard, so ochre is in effect mixed with blacks and whites

Bright blue
Royal blue
White
Black
Poss ochre and black against ochre and blue(s) for greens
